Prestigious Star Awards celebrate the world’s best venues and event suppliers. Every year, venue and event suppliers are nominated for excellence across a range of event-specific categories. During the awards nomination period, more than 2,000 venues and suppliers are reviewed but only 200 are nominated. The Prestigious Star Awards 2019 nominations are now live on the awards website and will continue to be announced until the 17th February 2019.

For the first time, individual event spaces at each nominated venue will be identified and celebrated for each category nomination. This will allow venues to better showcase their event credentials as well as assist event bookers with locating the best space for their particular event. As well as the global venue categories, venues can also enter national categories including, 'Best Venue in the UK,' 'Best Venue in the UAE' and 'Best Venue in Italy.'

Now in its tenth year, the awards program will be celebrated with a grand ball to be held at One Whitehall Place in London on the 15th of March 2019. Nominations will close on the 17th February 2019. Voting will take place from the 4th - 17th February and the finalists will be announced on the 20th February 2019. Winners of the Prestigious Star Awards will be celebrated at the awards ball in March.

The awards evening on the 15th March will bring together 100 distinguished individuals from the Prestigious Venues network, including senior representatives from leading international venues, corporate partners, prestigious event suppliers, and VIP clients from a wide range of sectors. This black-tie grand ball will feature captivating performances, magic, extravagant guest prizes and the finest hospitality.

Building on the success of what was a spectacular first last year, the evening will revive the old-world tradition of ballroom dancing. Set in motion by City Academy in 2018, this element of the awards evening was thoroughly enjoyed and will be a key element of future celebrations at the Prestigious Star Awards.

THE BEST EVENTS:
Every year the awards ceremony includes a thought-leadership element designed to inspire event bookers and event creators. ‘The World’s Best Events’ category has become known as “the Cannes Lions of luxury events.” Selected events are presented in pictures, with a short descriptive summary. In 2018, the top 12 events included a beach party at InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam to celebrate the launch of Moet & Chandon Ice hosted on an artificial island in the Amstel River, a Press/Media event at St Ermin's Hotel for The Crown Season 1 which recreated Elizabeth II's Coronation banquet from 1953 and a University of Cambridge alumni dinner featuring immersive projection mapping technology, attended by David Attenborough, Clare Balding and Stephen Fry at Banqueting House. The three finalists are revealed on the night and the winner is selected, through a live vote.
